2023 has been coming in hot! I’ve been noticing a shift in my work- leaning into brands and local businesses who are looking to elevate their content. While this isn’t something I’ve done a lot of in the past, it is becoming so obvious that this type of work is really setting my soul on fire.
Can we just take a moment to swoon over the photo above? This shoot for Sunlit Threads brand photography in Gulf Shores was exactly what I needed. I used to run away from (or at least complain about) full sun, but MAN, I do not think this session would have been half as good if we had clouds that day. Autumn and I braved the wind/cold/blinding sun and clearly it was worth it haha. I feel like creativity is finally brewing after a slow fall season and lots of big life changes- and I am here for it.
Autumn is possibly the sweetest thing on the planet, and her jewelry is hand-made with so much love and care. When we were planning for her brand photography in Gulf Shores she said she wanted filmy, vintage vibes and sent me some really cool inspiration ideas. So we brought along a few of her pieces, a palmetto leaf and some little things from around my house. You don’t have to go all out with props or styling in a branding shoot! The whole purpose of this is to showcase your brand, so we want it to stand out!
Then once we arrived on location it felt like everything just fell into place. We embraced the sun and the wind to create some super dreamy images that were exactly what she was looking for. I was super excited to get a little weird and even shot some of these through a plastic bag to get that perfect filmy/vintage effect. *chef’s kiss
