Gulf Shores anniversary photo session

This was one of my favorite fall sessions of 2022!

I mean just look at those smiles! :) This adorable couple got married in Gulf Shores back in 2012 and planned a trip this fall to celebrate their ten year anniversary. If we’re getting technical, they actually got married in this exact same spot!

If you’ve been to the beaches way down at the end of Fort Morgan road in Gulf Shores, taken the ferry to Dauphin Island or visited the fort itself, then you probably recognize the house in the background. The Skywalk Lodge and it’s super cool architecture is a pretty awesome bonus to many of my sessions- and it just so happens to be the centerpiece to some of the most beautiful sunsets in our area!

You can see more details about that awesome rental property here: SkyWalk Lodge in Fort Morgan

If the lodge is maybe a bit much for you, like this family, you can stay in the neighboring community. The Dunes includes condos as well as houses, but is still one of the most private beaches in the area. It offers gated access, a pool, and brick paver streets. You can ride your golf carts down to the beach access, see the most beautiful sunsets and even walk over to the Fort Morgan Tacky Jack’s for happy hour.

A lot changes in ten whole years, so this wife & husband decided to plan a family session, with a little special focus on remembering their wedding day. This meant that mom and dad got to visit the place they got married and experience it with their children. How amazing is that?! I’m honestly so inspired that they chose to do a Gulf Shores anniversary photo session like this, and honored that they chose me to capture such a special memory. They even brought along one of their wedding day photos where we can see the Skywalk Lodge in the background!

I loved their choice to keep it pretty casual, but can we talk about that skirt!? Chiffon and tulle are sometimes the best little touch for more movement in your photos. They were such a fun, chill family too! We kept it pretty quick to keep all the boys happy. And their wedding anniversary must be a pretty lucky date because we had (almost literally) not a cloud in the sky.
